A Chicago woman Monday won the largest bingo prize ever awarded at Potawatomi Bingo Casino - $1 million - with a spin of the casino’s All Star Bingo Wheel.
The woman, whom the casino declined to identify, qualified to spin the wheel by filling out an entire bingo card in 48 calls or less - the odds against which are one in 1.7 million, a statement from the casino says.
It was only the fourth time in the approximate 14-year history of the All Star Bingo game that a player qualified to spin the wheel, casino spokesman Ryan Amundson said.
Another Chicago woman was the last person to spin the wheel, winning $100,000 in September 2006.
And though anyone who spins the wheel is guaranteed to win at least $100,000, only one of 50 slots on the wheel is worth $1 million, Amundson said.
